He’s often joined by fellow characters Baby, played by Sheri Moon Zombie, and Captain Spaulding who was played by the late, great Sid Haig. While Baby and Captain Spaulding are generally the same throughout the films, with any changes to their characters clearly addressed by those around them, Otis Driftwood has one major change that never gets addressed. People tend to be their own worst critics — although critics have plenty of scathing things to say about House of 1000 Corpses. While House of 1000 Corpses is brilliant to many, it was, as mentioned earlier, Zombie's directorial debut, so he's bound to look back and find issues with it. This is probably exacerbated by the fact that he took a different artistic approach to the following Firefly movies.

They stole the woman's car and drove until they reached the Kahiki Palms Motel. In May of 1978, Otis was at home sleeping with the rotting corpse of a young woman when officers from the Ruggsville County Sheriff's Department laid siege to the family farm. Awakening with a start, Otis donned an iron mask with a skull painted on it, grabbed a rifle, and opened fire on the offending police officers. The other family members did likewise, but it soon became apparent that they were outgunned.

"I go to a lot of fan conventions and certainly Otis has stayed alive, at least in the eyes and minds of the fans," Moseley shared with ComicBook.com about reprising the role. "I don't really watch Devil's Rejects or House of 1000 Corpses all that often, so, in other words, I'm not home alone at night, burning the midnight oil, keeping those fires burning for Otis or Chop Top (from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), for that matter." But Zombie knew the troubles that accompany getting a movie funded, and as the filmmaker explained in a 2013 interview, "If someone's willing to put up that money and make your film happen, you really can't look that gift horse in the mouth." Sheriff Wydell brought all three of them back to the Firefly farmhouse. He had only recently learned that the Fireflys were responsible for murdering his brother, George Wydell, and now he wanted revenge. He tied Otis to a chair and drove large nails through his hands, pinning him to the arms of the chair.

On October 30th, 1977, Otis encountered four youths who were invited into his home courtesy of Mother Firefly. The guests consisted of Bill Hudley, Mary Knowles, Denise Willis and Jerry Goldsmith. As they drove away from the Firefly home, Otis and his brothers Rufus and Tiny ambushed them in the middle of the road. Otis attacked Bill Hudley while his brothers brought the others back to the house. Otis dragged Bill down into his personal torture den where he bound him against the wall and began to dismember him.

This hardcore horror film's style plays like a terrifying music video, providing a roller coaster ride of gruesomely colorful scenes. To the squeamish, this movie can come off as shocking, repulsive, and downright unwatchable, due to its gory nature. Only one episode remains in Season 3 of “Chucky,” and what a bloody road it’s been so far, especially for actor Devon Sawa. By 1956, it also offered a crematorium, mortuary, and flower shop, turning it into a one-stop-shop for all death-related needs. A lot of the poor upkeep of the cemetery may be traced to its owner, who has been accused of "grave desecration" and "unlawful burial of multiple bodies in a single plot," among other things.
